Welcome to 1MP!
Hello! Welcome to 1MP’s blog. We are a Year 1 class at Merrylands East Public School, in the western suburbs of Sydney. We are lucky enough to have TWO teachers – Miss Perdigao and Mrs MacDonald.
On our site, you can find examples of some of the great work we have been doing in class, as well as reminders for parents, links to games, and an overview of homework for the term.

School Events
Term 4
Reports will go home in week 7 (Thursday 24th November).
Presentation Day
On Monday 28th November we have our Presentation Day Assembly. Year 1 and Year 2 are going to present an item and we are currently working on our costumes at school. The children will need to wear their full school uniform on this day. They will perform in their uniform and we will attach props to their clothes. Parents are very welcome to attend this special program.
Convict Day
Convict day is also approaching. It would be great if the children could start bringing in some coins so we could collect, as a class, enough funds to ‘buy’ a few year 6 convicts. It is a fun way of supporting Year 6 fundraise for their end of year graduation.
The last day of term for students is Friday 16th December.
Reminders
If you are planning to be away for the start of school in 2012, please let the office know so we can save your child a spot for next year. Classes are currently being formed, and we need to know whether or not your child is returning next year. Thank you.
